Proper Flower Care
For Longer Lasting Arrangements
Our flowers need love and attention just like everything that’s precious in our lives. Flowers are delicate and sensitive, and it’s important to take proper care of them so that they will survive a long time. Be sure to always trim the stems and water them regularly.
If you received your bouquet in a plastic vase for transportation, you will have to take flowers out of this vase and put it in a suitable vase with enough water (glass vase is a perfect one). Usually, we put bouquets in the plastic vase for transportation if your bouquet has very sensitive flowers such as hydrangeas, peonies and some other that cannot be without water even for a short time.
Large rose bouquets care:
To prolong life of a huge rose bouquet you will have to put steams in a lot of water (60-70%), since roses drink a lot of water. The vase must have enough space for the steams and some leaves left to breath. Make sure no leaves are in the water! If you don't have vase like that you may order it from our shop.
Tulips:
Tulips like cold water and if you do not want them to open fast, you have to put not a lot of water in the vase and keep them far from the sun light. The perfect vase would be a tall, not very wide vase (glass) because tulips are growing and open when they see the sunlight. Remove leaved that will be falling and cut the steams when tulips grew a bit. Sometimes tulips come to our shop closed and even have green color, that means they are super fresh, and the color will be shown in the next days. So, in case you received bouquet with closed tulips, and they do not look like on the picture on the website, you will have to wait a few hours or few days for them to show their real beauty. These flowers will stay fresh for a week and even more. Closed tulips will grow and show their natural color fast if you put them in a warm water.
Hydrangeas:
Hydrangeas are very beautiful flowers, but they are very sensitive and require proper care. Make sure you change the water every couple of days or so for fresh water including your flower food of choice, especially if you see your blooms start to droop. Remove any leaves on the hydrangea stem that will sit below the waterline so that they don’t stagnate in the water and breed bacteria. These flowers need a lot of water, the vase can be filled till the top with water.
Peonies:
Cut stems with clean sharp tools Make sure that cutting tools are clean, and sterilize if possible to prevent contamination of the cut ends of the stems. Use the flower food (one bag for 1l of water). Clean the steams well, change the water often and clean the vase. Keep them away from the heat and try to keep them cool. Peonies are such are beautiful flowers and you can enjoy their beauty for a week if you do take a proper care of them.
